Yanni arrested.
"Oh Woe is me. [I am undone]."
I can’t believe my eyes. I just got done posting about Yanni, one of my favorite artists yesterday to do further research and find out that he was arrested in 06’ for battery of his then girlfriend. The details are such that I’d rather not write about them. I am very disappointed. He did claim his actions were in self defense and seems to be on the up-and-up now, however. Whichever is the case, I hope he can continue to keep a clean record and stay out of trouble.

Music Eloquence, maybe I can help you with your "woe is me"...I think it is important knowing the whole story and Yanni was found completely innocent of the charges made against him..It became apparant very quickly that the woman that brought these charges, attacked Yanni, and then tried to extort money from him...Something that Yanni was not going to allow to happen...Too many celebraties just give in, but Yanni felt it was important that the truth win out...This is old news, since then Yanni has suffered much losing his Mother Felista, in May of 2006...As a long time Yanni Fan I too am very excited about his upcoming 2008 tour and his new additions of vocalists to his music...
Mychamisa, Thank you for commenting on that. I'm sure there are many out there, like myself, who are in the dark about what really happened and the details that followed his arrest. Sadly, I don't find it hard to believe your comment because it happens often to those affluent.
Sadly, I don't find it hard to believe the other comments here because it happens often to those abused (namely, the man is the one with the power/money/resources/cops on his side/fan base and everyone is quick to discredit the woman). How many famous men arrested for D.V. have actually admitted it - and how many are probably guilty given U.S. DOJ crime statistics? You guys are idiots.
I'm not suprise about him. More info on another of Yanni's friends and band member. His name is Charlie Adams,the drummer for Yanni and he is the deadbeat dad of two Autisitic boys. He has been seperated from his wife and hasn't and won't pay child support. Its so sad that he won't support his kids or wife. no wonder she is divorcing him.
